Terms of service
Last updated 13 August 2026
These terms cover your use of Lectrify. They are written to be read, so please do.
Recording is your responsibility
You are responsible for obtaining permission before recording any lecture or conversation.
Rules differ by institution and by country, and in some places recording without consent is against the law. Lectrify does not check, and cannot check, whether you have permission. That part is on you.
Who can use Lectrify
You need to be at least 16, or old enough to enter a contract where you live, whichever is higher. If you are using Lectrify through a school or university account, that institution's rules apply on top of these terms.
You are responsible for what happens under your account, including keeping your sign-in details to yourself.
What you upload
You keep ownership of everything you upload and everything Lectrify produces from it. We do not claim any ownership of your recordings, your notes or your flashcards.
You grant us only the permission we need to run the service — storing your files, processing them into notes, and showing them back to you. That permission ends when you delete the material or close your account.
Plans and payment
Free, Pro and Ultra are described on the plans page, including the monthly lecture limits. Paid plans are billed monthly in advance and renew until you cancel.
You can cancel at any time and keep access until the end of the period you have paid for. We do not give partial refunds for unused time in a month, except where the law requires it.
If you move down to a smaller plan, your library stays intact. Features that belong to the higher plan simply stop being available.
Acceptable use
Do not use Lectrify to:
- Upload material you have no right to upload.
- Record anyone who has not agreed to be recorded, where their agreement is required.
- Break your institution's academic integrity rules. Notes and flashcards are study aids, not something to hand in.
- Attempt to disrupt the service, work around plan limits, or access other people's material.
What we do not promise
Notes, summaries, key terms and flashcards are generated automatically and will sometimes be wrong, incomplete, or miss the point. Check anything that matters against the recording — every heading and card carries the timestamp so you can.
We aim to keep the service available and your material safe, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access, and you should keep your own copy of anything you cannot afford to lose.
Ending your account
You can close your account at any time, which deletes your lectures and everything produced from them.
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, and will tell you why unless we are prevented from doing so.
Changes to these terms
If we change these terms in a way that materially affects you, we will let you know before the change takes effect. Continuing to use Lectrify after that means you accept the new terms.
